Some businesses are a bit more pragmatic. I enjoyed the sign on the wall at the parts store I once worked at:

"Great quality, fast service, low cost: Pick any two!"

Dave !! I'm glad you haven't gone slip-slidin' down that slope. You've got your rope knots all nice and tight, right? I like your sign. We need one in the store. I mean, what is management thinking? That we customer service reps can provide more than 2 services at a time ????

Gary! I was the mule who opened its mouth by pure damn freudian slipism ... a nasty illness. When soapbox suzy, of the management, began winding down her 'make the customer happy' speech, she told us that the customers are not out to get us. I blurted, "Yes they are." And promptly turned a few thousand hues of red with all the laughter. I lamely threw in an example, but I had outed myself: the subversive .... sigh. Maybe I need to head back out to the pondering tree ...

Jim! Mwahaaaaahaaaaaa.... Perhaps I shall share that with soapbox suzy at the next staff meeting ... apparently our store has received a few too many customer service complaints recently ... not that I know anything. Nope. Not me. I knows nuthin'. Keep the hooves polished and clean. Fly low as possible. Do the job. yada yada yada ....
