Hope you had a good one. We did--we went to Arvest Ballpark to see a professional display which was about the only gig in town, with the burn ban and all. This 4th of July will no doubt have long-term political ramifications, as the annual fireworks tent is the only fundraising event of the year for many of the area's right-wing hate groups. Many of them didn't sell a single sparkler. Without that stream of revenue, how will those groups be able to run race-baiting radio adds perpetuating the lie that Obama is secretly foreign?
Happy 4th to you and yours. Right-wingers lost their sparkle this year, eh?? I wouldn't be too quick to think they might loose precious airtime ...apparently where there's a will, there's a way. (Sorry. I'm not feeling up to optimistic right now).
Jan 3, 2013 - Case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Vermont Service Center for processing.
Jan 7, 2013 - Case has been received and given its official Receipt # (valuable for 'tracking'). The application is undergoing its Initial Review: USCIS is initiating background checks; determining if there are national security issues that need to be addressed; and reviewing the application for fraud indicators.
Jan 11, 2013 - On January 7, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E).
Feb 20, 2013 - Update for friends: Apparently I will not get any additional updates until the Visa is approved (or not). It looks like the average length of time between Acceptance of application and Approval of application is 7 to 8 months. So ... my job is to be patient. And aim for mid-summer 2013.
Mar 10, 2013 - Update for friends: I'm not feeling very patient. This process is C-R-A-Z-Y and is making ME c-r-a-z-y !! How did all those WWII servicemen bring their british brides back home to the good ole U S of A ??? Seriously, 7 months to verify that we aren't criminals, and I'm not running an older men for hire prostitution ring ??? All I can say is THANK heavens he will be visiting me in 17 days. As me pal Adullamite would say, "I canny near bear the waitin.'"
